Information Dump.

We've had a lot of things happening in the land of (WANING). First, Jeff left the band in October, and we are currently playing with Ian Black of Nilshiphter on the bass.
Before he left, Jeff played bass on an EP called "Broken Path", which will hopefully see the light of day on a small record label soon. We have posted the first song on our Reverbnation page, so go check that out. It's called "Marching Down" and it may be our best song yet.
Our last show this year will be on December 10th with three amazing bands, Nero Order, Wreck and Reference, and Liver Cancer. These bands represent three forward-thinking and unique takes on heavy music. The show is at the newly resurrected Javalounge in Sacramento. RSVP on the Facebook event page here.

Press is good press

Check out the new write-up about (WANING) by Sara Williams for examiner.com. Go here to read it. Not a bad summary. Don forget about our show July 8th with Giant Squid and La Fin Du Monde.

July 8th with GIANT SQUID and LA FIN DU MONDE

We are excited to be playing with GIANT SQUID, who in our humble opinion, are one of the greatest Sacramento bands (although they've since defected to San Francisco, Sacramento's cooler older brother). It will also be at the Blue Lamp, a nice midtown location, in case you skipped driving all the way to Woodland for our last show. Also on the bill are LA FIN DU MONDE, total crushers in their own right. There are still some copies of the "Live in Studio A" CDr left, so come by and check us out!

June 18th - Giveaways

We are playing our first show in a while for Jim's birthday on June18th at The Stag in Woodland. Also playing will be Tied to the Branches, The Common Men, and Der Spazm. As a token of our gratitude, those who show up will receive a free, handmade CDr of selections from our Live in Studio A session last September (one of our last performances with Scott on drums) as well as some unreleased material from the archives. We are only making a limited number, so show up early, or they may all get snapped up.

JUNE 18TH

We have a show on June 18th, this will be the first with our new drummer Benjamin. Also, it is a party for Jim's birthday. The lineup is excellent, there's really no reason not to go.

We got a new drummer

Shaun unfortunately had to leave the band for personal reasons. We wish him the best in any future endeavors. We have a new drummer now, Benjamin Carpineta. We are in the process of setting up some shows with the new lineup. Expect to see us back on stage this summer. Maybe with a new song or two!

Friday at On the Y + updates

This Friday, February 11th (WANING) will play our second show with the new (and way heavier) lineup. We've added a new song to the set, which we premired at the Press Club show we played on January 31st. There are no other shows currently booked, so don't miss this one. We should be recording sometime in the spring, so we need to get ready for that.

DIVINATION OF THE DAMNED

Speaking of recording, Venetian Veil (Jim and Susan's side project) will begin recording an album this weekend with Matt "Noisepsalm" Lewis on the dials - stay tuned for more info on that!
